A Free Christmas Gift for You

A Simple EFT Practice for Holiday Stress

The holiday season looks different for everyone. Some people love the decorations, the gatherings, and the traditions. Others feel the pressure rising the moment December begins. Most of us fall somewhere in between — excited for the joy of the season, yet navigating the stress that comes with it.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stretched thin, or pulled in too many directions, you’re not alone. As a Clinical EFT practitioner, I see it every year: even the most grounded people can find themselves emotionally overloaded this time of year.

This blog is my simple holiday gift to you, (and frankly it’s a holiday gift to you from you) — a gentle EFT practice you can use to bring yourself back to calm, reconnect with your body, and release some of the emotional weight of the season, like stress, overwhelm and shame.

Why the Holidays Trigger So Much Stress

We often talk about the holidays as a magical, joyful season, but the truth is many people feel increased anxiety this time of year. The causes are real and valid:

Gift pressure: Trying to buy something thoughtful for everyone — or feeling guilty when you can’t.
Financial strain: The holidays can stretch budgets further than expected.
Family gatherings: Even loving families come with history, dynamics, and pressure. Or for some of us there no family gatherings at all.
Social expectations: Feeling like you should be cheerful, present, and “on” at all times.
Travel and logistics: Disrupted routines, tight schedules, and overstimulated kids.
Emotional triggers: Loneliness, grief, or old memories can surface more intensely in December.

Your nervous system feels all of this — even if you’re not consciously thinking about it.

Now, make your own list. Write down how you really feel inside of you. The more honest you’re with yourself, the more things will come to the surface. And that’s great. Because EFT Tapping is here to help you clear everything out. Read below to see how.

A Calming EFT Tapping Practice for Holiday Stress

Use this simple tapping round anytime you notice tension building — right when you wake up, before a family event, after shopping, or during a quiet moment in the evening. You can also tap with your kids or your partner. EFT is gentle, accessible, and highly effective for all ages.

Step 1: Notice how you feel.
Name the emotion, sensation, or thought. Stress, heaviness, overwhelm, pressure… anything is okay.

Step 2: Rate it from 0–10.
This helps track your progress.

Step 3: Tap on the side of your hand and say:
“Even though this season feels overwhelming, I’m open to feeling calmer.”

Step 4: Move through each tapping point: Click here to see the points
Use these phrases or adjust them to fit your experience:

  • “This is a lot to handle.”

  • “There’s so much pressure.”

  • “I’m doing the best I can.”

  • “It’s okay to feel this way.”

  • “My body has been working hard to keep up.”

  • “I don’t need to carry all of this stress.”

  • “Letting some of this soften now.”

  • “Allowing more calm into my system.”

Repeat the round once or twice and re-rate your intensity. Even a small shift makes a difference.

TIP: Remember that list you had made? Start with the most triggering on your list. Use your own words and start tapping. Read here to learn about the power of your exact words.

Tapping With Others (Even Kids)

One of the most beautiful things about EFT is how easily it can be shared.

You can tap:

  • with your partner before a holiday event

  • with a friend who’s overwhelmed

  • with your children when they’re overstimulated or emotional

  • alone, whenever you need grounding

Kids often respond incredibly well to tapping — it helps them calm down quickly, and it teaches them emotional regulation in a way that feels empowering, not intimidating.

A Final Reminder

The holiday season doesn’t require perfection. You don’t have to feel joyful every moment or keep up with every tradition. What matters most is how you care for yourself — your body, your emotions, your energy — during a time that naturally brings more stimulation and stress.

EFT is a beautiful tool to help you stay centered, grounded, and present. This simple practice is my gift to you, with the hope that it brings you even a little more peace this season.

If you’d like a tapping script for a specific holiday challenge — financial stress, family anxiety, grief, loneliness, or helping kids regulate — feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to support you.

Wishing you a calm and nurturing holiday season.
